April Poynter

Director of Organizational Effectiveness

April Poynter, the Director of Organizational Effectiveness at Worthwhile, leads HR strategy development and execution to align with the company’s mission and growth objectives. Her role focuses on fostering a healthy work environment through talent acquisition, employee engagement, and performance management. She supports organizational efficiency and employee development, helping executive leaders identify areas for improvement and unlock their team’s potential.

April’s experience includes roles in HR, Sales, and serving as VP of Operations and Chief People Officer, where she grew a team from 48 to over 500 employees. During the pandemic, she looked for a company that valued work-life balance, which led her to Worthwhile.

Outside of work, April and her husband Tony are proud parents of three children. A passionate writer, April has published two books: Pressing Forward and Lean In. She is also the founder of Blushing Phoenix, an online community providing resources and support for women who struggle with erythrophobia (the intense fear of blushing in social situations, often causing anxiety and avoidance). Her mission is to empower passionate, creative, and ambitious women, held back by erythrophobia and social challenges, to confidently share their unique voices with the world.
